New Transportation Service Launched for Student Safety

St Helens Primary School has introduced a comprehensive transportation service to ensure safe and reliable transport for students traveling to and from school.

The new service addresses parent concerns about student safety during commute and provides a convenient solution for families living farther from the school.

Service Features:

  • Modern Vehicles: Well-maintained buses with safety equipment
  • Qualified Drivers: Licensed drivers with clean driving records
  • Safety Measures: First aid kits, seat belts, and emergency procedures
  • Route Coverage: Multiple routes covering major residential areas
  • Supervision: Adult supervisors on each bus
  • Communication: Real-time updates to parents via SMS

Routes Available:

  • Route 1: Ntinda - Bukoto - Kamwokya - School
  • Route 2: Kyanja - Kiwatule - Najjera - School
  • Route 3: Kisaasi - Kira - Namugongo Road - School
  • Route 4: Mutungo - Luzira - Nakawa - School

Transport Coordinator Mr. John Nsubuga emphasized safety as the top priority: "Every vehicle undergoes regular maintenance and safety inspections. Our drivers receive ongoing training in safe driving and child supervision."

Registration Process:

Parents interested in the transport service can:

  • Visit the school office to complete registration forms
  • Provide emergency contact information
  • Choose pickup and drop-off points
  • Make payment arrangements

The service operates on school days during term time, with special arrangements for school events and activities. Monthly and termly payment options are available.

Head Teacher Mrs. Sarah Nakamya noted: "This service ensures that distance is never a barrier to accessing quality education at St Helens. Parent feedback has been overwhelmingly positive."
